Superior Clarity:

Glass Pearls have an effective particle size of just 0.6 mm to 0.8 mm. This narrow particle size range allows for depth filtration and extends operational cycles between backwashes. Laboratory tests have shown that Glass Pearls can effectively filter below 3 microns.

Time Saving:

Glass Pearls are easy to install and enable quick start-up of the filter media. Their high purity means that very little backwashing is required to clean the media before the filter is put into operation.

Glass Pearls operate on the “depth filtration” principle, which forces impurities through the filter bed where they become trapped in the tiny spaces between the media particles, while allowing clean water to pass through.

Glass Pearls require only 215 litres of water to successfully backwash a Waterco S600 filter, whereas traditional sand media requires 266 litres.

• Silicon Dioxide (SiO₂): 70.00 – 75.00%

• Sodium Oxide (Na₂O): 12.00 – 15.00%

• Calcium Oxide (CaO): 7.00 – 12.00%

• Magnesium Oxide (MgO): approx. 5.00%

• Aluminium Oxide (Al₂O₃): approx. 2.50%

• Potassium Oxide (K₂O): approx. 1.50%
