Air diffusers K4 to K7 aquaculture france

Air diffusers K4 to K7

Function / Purpose

The air diffuser is used to enrich water with oxygen by creating fine air (or oxygen) bubbles that rise through the water column, allowing gas exchange between air and water.
It is used in aquariums, tanks, ponds, or recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) to maintain adequate dissolved oxygen levels for aquatic organisms.

With a very fine bubble size and a uniform material structure, this is certainly one of the best air diffusers on the market, featuring a chrome-plated brass barbed fitting. Suitable for use in freshwater or seawater. The ST type includes metal reinforcements and is ozone-resistant.

Advantages & Limitations

Advantages

  • Very fine bubbles increase air–water contact and oxygen transfer efficiency.

  • Uniform structure minimizes clogging or leakage.

  • Reinforced “ST” versions available for intensive use or harsh environments (ozone, saltwater).

  • Compatible with various aquaculture settings (fresh or saltwater).

  • The flat disc model (K7) provides wide horizontal coverage—ideal for shallow tanks or ponds.

Limitations

  • Airflow capacity is relatively modest (e.g., 20 L/min for K4 or K7); multiple diffusers may be needed depending on oxygen demand.

  • 9 mm connection requires compatible tubing or adapters.

  • Clogging or biofilm buildup can reduce efficiency; regular maintenance is necessary.

  • The disc model (K7) may require specific positioning for optimal air distribution.
