The Aquasub aerator is a submersible vertical jet aerator used in fish farming, aquaculture, and pond management to improve water oxygenation and promote layer circulation.
The Aquasub aerator (models Aquasub 1, 2, etc.) is a submersible vertical jet aerator used in aquaculture, fish farming, and pond management to improve oxygenation and water circulation.
It consists of:
a submersible electric motor (typically 0.75–3 kW),
an impeller that drives water upward,
and a diffuser that projects water to the surface, creating a powerful aeration by splashing and mixing.
Bottom water is drawn in and projected to the surface, increasing contact with air and promoting:
oxygen transfer (O₂/CO₂ exchange),
removal of harmful gases (NH₃, H₂S),
thermal mixing of the water column.

Highly efficient in warm or stagnant water.
Strong vertical mixing, reduces stratification and anoxic zones.
Easy installation and mobility.
Low maintenance and low clogging risk compared to air diffusers.
Higher energy consumption than fine-bubble diffusers.
Moderate noise at the water surface.
Less efficient in deep ponds (>3 m) for full-column mixing.
Fish ponds (carp, trout, tilapia, etc.)
Rearing or holding tanks
Ponds with high organic load
Prevention of summer oxygen depletion and fish kills
