Nature and Composition

Main component: amorphous carbon with a microporous structure.
Origin: carbonized organic material (wood, coconut shell, peat, mineral coal, etc.), then thermally or chemically activated.
Appearance: black, porous grains with a high specific surface area (up to 1000–1500 m²/g).
Bulk density: approximately 0.4 to 0.6 g/cm³.
Form: granular, extruded, or powdered depending on the application.
