Dénitrator for aquaculture and aquariology

Dénitrator Aquaculture

The denitrator is an essential device in water treatment systems for aquaculture, especially in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). It enables the reduction of nitrates in the water, a key parameter for maintaining a healthy environment for fish and other aquatic organisms.

The denitrification process relies on the action of specific anaerobic bacteria that convert nitrates (NO₃⁻) into harmless gaseous nitrogen (N₂), which is released into the atmosphere. This biological treatment helps to:

  • Reduce toxicity caused by nitrate accumulation in tanks,

  • Improve water quality and animal welfare,

  • Allow better management of nitrogen cycles in aquaculture systems,

  • Promote sustainability of farming by limiting water renewal.

Denitrators can be integrated into specialized biofilters, combined with circulation and water balancing systems to ensure optimal conditions for bacterial growth.

Denitrator for aquaculture and large-volume aquariums.

Compact denitrator for nitrate reduction, preferably in closed recirculating systems (RAS). Denitrators operate under reducing conditions and require an additional carbon source (alcohol).

The system is delivered ready to use (HDPE reactor, bacterial culture media, circulation pump, dosing pump, measurement probes, and electrical control panel).
