Densimeter aquaculture france

Densimètre

The densimeter-thermometer for aquaculture and aquariums is a combined instrument designed to simultaneously measure water density (or salinity) and temperature, two critical parameters for the health and well-being of fish, crustaceans, and marine organisms. This tool allows rapid monitoring of aquarium and fish-holding tank conditions and adjustments according to species-specific requirements.

Key features:

  • Function: measures water density/salinity and temperature.

  • Type: floating hydrometer with integrated thermometer or digital refractometer with temperature probe.

  • Measurement range:

    • Density: 1.000 – 1.030

    • Salinity: 0 – 40 g/L

    • Temperature: 0 – 40 °C (depending on model)

  • Material: transparent plastic or salt-resistant glass.

  • Advantages: fast, reliable, and combined readings of density and temperature, essential for maintaining a stable environment.

Usage:

  1. Take a clean water sample in a container.

  2. Immerse the densimeter-thermometer or place water on the prism (depending on type).

  3. Read density/salinity and temperature simultaneously.

  4. Adjust salinity or temperature if necessary.

Applications:

  • Monitoring salinity and temperature in aquaculture systems.

  • Controlling conditions in reef and marine aquariums.

  • Checking saltwater mixes during water changes.

Models Name Product
1 DensiMeter Densimètre
2 DensiTower Measuring tube

DensiMeter
Densimeter designed to measure density [g/ml] – Temp. 25/4°C in marine aquariums. For very accurate measurement, allow the densimeter to float freely in a sufficiently tall container (e.g., DensiTower). The water sample temperature should, if possible, be at 25 °C.

  • Maximum deviation at 25 °C: 0.001 g/ml

  • Measuring range: 1.018 to 1.028 g/ml

  • Resolution: 0.0001 g/ml

  • Dimensions: length approx. 35.5 cm

DensiTower
Densimeter cylinder with overflow for precise density measurement using a hydrometer (not included in the package).
Fill the DensiTower up to the top of the inner tube with the water to be measured. Slowly immerse the hydrometer. Excess water flows into the outer ring. After measurement, remove the hydrometer and empty the DensiTower. For precise density determination, we recommend using the DensiMeter.
Ø approx. 45 mm, height approx. 355 mm
