Limnimetric Staff – Water Level Indicator
The limnimetric staff is a visual measuring instrument used to monitor water levels in rivers, ponds, basins, reservoirs, or hydrometric stations. It takes the form of a graduated ruler, usually made of enamelled ceramic or durable PVC, mounted vertically on a wall, structure, or surface in direct contact with water.
Main Functions:
Allows quick and direct water level readings with the naked eye.
Used for hydrological monitoring, water resource management, or control of critical thresholds (floods, droughts).
Can be paired with electronic sensors for remote monitoring.
Features:
Clear graduations in centimeters or decimeters, often in high-contrast colors (white/blue, white/black) for easy reading, even from a distance.
Made of durable materials resistant to UV rays, frost, impact, and chemicals.
Can be mounted on masonry structures, stakes, banks, or pond monk walls.
Applications:
Fish farming ponds
Irrigation networks
Hydrometric measurement stations
Water level management in retention basins or wetlands
