An oxygenation cone is a closed hydraulic reactor, shaped like an inverted cone (wider at the top), used to efficiently dissolve pure oxygen into water. It is widely used in aquaculture to improve water quality and fish health.
Water and oxygen inlet:
Deoxygenated water enters from the top of the cone.
At the same time, pure oxygen gas is injected under pressure into the cone.
Mixing and dissolution:
The water flow slows down inside the cone due to its widening shape.
This increases the contact time between oxygen bubbles and water.
The pressure and conical design ensure near-complete oxygen dissolution.
Outlet:
Oxygen-rich water exits from the bottom of the cone and is distributed to tanks or recirculating systems.
Materials: stainless steel, PVC, HDPE, or fiberglass.
Operating pressure: 1 to 4 bar depending on the model.
Saturation rate: up to 95–100%, or higher under optimal conditions.
Typical flow rate: varies based on cone size (from a few m³/h to several dozen).

Oxygenation cones made of GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) are used either in the main water flow or in a bypass for oxygen enrichment. Water flows from top to bottom. As the cone widens, the flow velocity decreases, creating a balance between the upward movement of oxygen bubbles and the downward flow of water. The bubbles remain suspended until they are fully dissolved. The pressure inside the cone is regulated using a valve at the outlet (included in the accessory set).
