A 6-way valve is a key component of sand filtration systems used in aquaculture. It allows water flow to be directed through the filter according to multiple functions without dismantling the system or altering the hydraulic circuit.
Filter – Water passes through the sand to retain suspended particles and returns to the tank.
Backwash – Reverses flow to clean the sand, carrying debris to the waste outlet.
Rinse – Rinses the sand after backwashing to prevent debris from returning to the tank.
Waste/Drain – Allows partial draining of the filter or tank.
Recirculation/Bypass – Water bypasses the sand bed, useful during maintenance.
Closed – Completely stops water flow through the filter.
