A buffer tank in aquaculture is an intermediate reservoir designed to regulate, store, and secure the water used in fish farming facilities. It helps stabilize flow rates, compensate for fluctuations in water supply, and ensure better sanitary conditions for fish and other aquatic organisms.
Usually built in HDPE or polyester, the buffer tank is dimensioned according to the needs of the farm (volume, stocking density, cultured species). It can be used to:
temporarily store water before distribution to culture tanks,
buffer variations in temperature, oxygen, or turbidity,
secure the system in case of pump failure or water supply interruption,
facilitate management and maintenance operations in the aquaculture system.
Special tanks for water treatment and distribution, with optional partition walls or compartments for UV treatment or degassing sections, flat bottom without legs, flanged connections, and custom accessories.
